How I got here
My journey began in sixth grade, when a school report on the Amazon rainforest lit a fire in me that never went out. That spark grew into a calling: two decades as a U.S. humanitarian diplomat with USAID and the Department of State. From Guatemala to Tajikistan, Armenia to Jordan, I led multicultural teams, managed portfolios as large as $270M, and built bridges between governments, civil society, and businesses. Along the way, I discovered the art of turning bold visions into measurable results - and the power of bringing people together around a shared purpose. Whether working with heads of state or grassroots activists, I’ve built my career on genuine connection, empathy, and results.

Who I am & why I'm here
I spent my career representing the United States on the global stage, working at the intersection of policy, implementation, and real-world complexity. Over time, I found that the most important work was in designing strong strategies and then establishing a clear path to effective implementation. Navigating competing priorities, shifting conditions, and institutional constraints requires more than technical expertise. It requires judgment, perspective, and the ability to see clearly in complex environments. That is the role I came to play. I developed a way of working that is grounded, practical, and focused on progress - helping leaders clarify direction, think through challenges, and move important initiatives forward in a way that holds.

Today, I bring that same approach to my advisory work. I work with leaders who are responsible for meaningful priorities and need an experienced external perspective to help them move from intention to execution.

Why this Work Matters
I believe that much of the work shaping our world happens in complex, imperfect environments -where progress is not always straightforward, and outcomes are rarely immediate. I have seen that meaningful change often comes from steady, thoughtful effort. From leaders who are willing to engage with complexity, make difficult decisions, and continue moving forward even when the path is not fully clear.

That belief has stayed with me throughout my career and continues to guide my work today. It is also what led me to write Global: An Extraordinary Guide for Ordinary Heroes - a reflection on the idea that meaningful progress is often the result of clear thinking, persistence, and a willingness to take responsibility for what is possible.

Through Bashan Impact Solutions, my goal is to support leaders doing work that matters - helping them navigate complexity, move forward with clarity, and deliver outcomes that are both effective and enduring.
If this resonates, I welcome a conversation.
