How I got here
My journey began in sixth grade, when a school report on the Amazon rainforest lit a fire in me that never went out. That spark grew into a calling: two decades as a U.S. humanitarian diplomat with USAID and the Department of State. From Guatemala to Tajikistan, Armenia to Jordan, I led multicultural teams, managed portfolios as large as $270M, and built bridges between governments, civil society, and businesses. Along the way, I discovered the art of turning bold visions into measurable results - and the power of bringing people together around a shared purpose. Whether working with heads of state or grassroots activists, I’ve built my career on genuine connection, empathy, and results.

Who I am & why I'm here
I spent my career representing the United States on the global stage, creating impact through diplomacy and development. From this I realized that not just the U.S. government, but also businesses are hungry for meaningful partnerships, yet often lack the know-how to navigate risks and build trust. With 20 years of diplomatic experience, I’ve become what I call a “Partnership Diplomat” — uniquely qualified to broker high-trust, high-impact relationships between businesses, nonprofits, and communities.
Today, as the founder of Bashan Impact Solutions, I help businesses move beyond surface-level CSR and create credible, lasting impact that strengthens both business and community. My approach is different: impact doesn’t have to be heavy. Done right, it’s human-centered, uplifting, and even joyful.
Be the change
I believe everyone has the ability, and the honor, to make the world better. I’ve spent the past 25 years striving to do so, first with humanitarian NGOs and then by creating programs and partnerships across the globe for the U.S. government. But you don’t need a do-gooder career to create ripples of positive change.
That’s why I wrote Global: An Extraordinary Guide for Ordinary Heroes — to inspire people everywhere to take positive action. I believe we all have that Hero inside us, capable of great things. At Bashan Impact Solutions, being a Hero means unlocking your business' potential to be a force for good. It’s about guiding leaders through uncertainty, sparking joy in the process, and ensuring the work we do leaves the world, and the people in it, better than before.
